From Pastor Steve!!

Hi all

I want to say THANK YOU for the time you have already invested in J12. The first two weeks have started off with a buzz! Last Wednesday night there were 60 kids and last night there were 51. Someone told me that there were 26 kids who were there last week that were NOT there last night. Maybe someone can call the kids that were missing and invite them for next week. The kids seem to be having a great time and there is a lot of energy and excitement.

A few things:
1. Worship – Matt and Monique…great job with the worship! It seems like we have rushed through the worship set a little bit and have been done in 10 minutes. Remember, you have about 20 minutes for worship. I think as the kids get to know the songs there will be even better participation. Also, please take the initiative to teach the kids about worship…why we lift our hands, why we clap, etc. This can be done before, during or after the worship set!
2. Speaking/Message – Kevin excellent job last night! The J13 thing was hilarious! Good solid message and creative. I think I originally said speak for 15 minutes, but let’s go ahead and take 20 minutes and a few minutes for an invitation or response time.
3. Check-in – We need a little more help in the parking lot checking in kids! It took a little too much time at the tables. We might need 3-4 people as to speed up the process. Kids would rather be playing, talking, etc. as opposed to standing in line to check in.
4. XBOX – I talked to Pastor Mike about asking the Encounter kids to stay clear of the J12 room. I noticed last night that there were about 5 high school kids who were dominating the XBOX’s and it prevented the J12 kids from playing! Let’s all make sure that there are no encounter kids in the J12 room. AND…we should limit the amount of time a kid can be on a game. Some of the kids last night said they haven’t had the opportunity to play yet because certain kids were on it the entire time. Maybe 10 minutes would be a good limit?
5. Games – The games have been going well. Thank you to Matt for scaring kids to death! Remember, when leading games you have to:
* be full of energy
* give clear direction
* demand and command the kids’ attention

AND…let’s all try to sit WITH the kids and NOT in the back…this will limit kids talking and goofing around!

All for now!! Next week Pastor Chuck is going to speak and I would like Kevin to provide a game that would last 15 minutes or so?

Blessings,

Pastors Steve and Tami
